On January 15th, 1919, Boston witnessed a disaster unlike any other. A massive tank filled with molasses burst open in the city's North End, unleashing a wave of sticky sweetness that crashed through the streets like a tsunami. The flood, reaching heights 25 feet in some areas, was devastating. Buildings were flattened under the power of the treacherous goo.
The aftermath was heartbreaking. Twenty-one people lost their lives, and many more sustained wounds. The flood also caused a great deal of destruction to property, leaving a trail of molasses carnage in its wake.

The city/Officials/Local authorities are working to clean up/contain/investigate the sticky situation, but until then, Boston is left navigating/scrambling/dealing with this sticky/treacherous/tacky predicament.
